Didi Draws Her Feelings

This self-initiated book proposal introduces children to the world of abstract art, and invites us to begin to identify our feelings and emotions through visual language. Squiggles, colours, and shapes all gain meaning, and become a communication aid, with ourselves and those around us.

I can see it helping teachers during explorations of art and emotional regulation, and may be of particular use in classes with SEND children. The book aims to give a new way of approaching inner emotional worlds, in an easy to understand and open way, that may be of benefit to neurodivergent, adhd and autistic people, young and old.

It also incorporates a colourful spinning wheel at the back, which is fun!
